imagine

emma dodge hanson www.emmadodgehanson.comi saw a baby a few weeks ago
of course, i had to play with her
smile with her
speak gaily with her

we give so much attention and loving to little babies and toddlers
we're forgiving and comforting
we're so pleased just to see them
we think they're simply wonderful ...

i thought about how happy we'd all be if people fawned all over us when they saw us
imagine if when you arrived somewhere - the car dealership, the gas station, work, home...- those there smiled at you, wanted to stroke your cheek, wanted to speak sweetly with you
how life would be so different...so much more loving

we are so perfect when we are so tiny
when did we i stop thinking we're i'm no longer perfect?
when did some stop looking with their hearts instead of their eyes?

it's time for me to mindfully think differently...more compassionately towards myself...and then - to others

this is great! yes, i totally agree. we need to have the same forgiving, loving, wonderous spirit towards ourselves and others. we know we can do it.

Yes indeed Marlaine! We have to enact this love, this practice, this compassion. It is not hard when we feel it deeply. It is funny to see people all surprised about your behavior! I've always (with the exception of one or two periods in my life that were marked by depression or loss) being a rather positive and happy person. I always smile, always have a silly grin, find joy. Some of my colleagues ask why, and how it is that I can be so happy.

We are lovingly transformed with this practice.

Your insight is such sweet nectar Marlaine. Thanks for sharing it!
